First impressions are everything. Your entryway can give those who visit your home a first-hand view of how you live, so this is a great opportunity to set the tone and showcase your style. While furniture is a great base, it is just that. Accessories and are a must for getting a designer look and making your space feel finished and personal. They add color, texture, and warmth, while giving you the opportunity to easily swap out each season, or when your style or mood changes.
So...how do you style it? Make sure the accessories you select are different heights. This gives the space movement and interest. Vases are a great way to achieve this look. We suggest one large vase, or two to three smaller vases of varying heights grouped together. Adding large branches or fresh flowers provides even more height, and the welcoming element of nature.
Books are a must and put your personality on display. They show what you like, and where you've been or want to go. We always suggest selecting and stacking a few that are most meaningful to you. This can include places you have travelled to and things you enjoy (art, photography, sports, food etc.). Once you settle on a subject or two, try to select books that color coordinate with your art, rug or other accents that are already in your home.
Sculptures and Candles...Sculptures can be anything from a large bust to a small sphere or candle accent and are a great way to add character and texture. Sculptures come in all shapes and sizes and help if you are trying to set the style or tone for your home. (Metal and wood sculptures in geometric shapes tend to trend more organic minimalist or contemporary, while ceramic busts lend themselves to a more traditional or even grand-millennial style.) If you have already selected a large vase or a few vases to display, we suggest going with a small sculpture or candle to place on top of your stacked books. If you have decided to forgo the vase route, a larger sculpture can make a great focal point and add character and sophistication with books stacked neatly under or beside it.
Benches and Pillows...If you have the space, adding a bench is a great way to add function and style. A double bench can be placed against a wall, or a pair of benches can sit side-by-side under a console table. If you do end up placing a bench on a wall, accent pillows are a welcome addition and make that space feel finished and thoughtful.
To fill an empty wall, we always suggest a mirror or art either over the console table or over a bench. Art will add color and give you a base to select your accessories, while a mirror will add light and function. It can also make your entryway feel larger.
Finally....wallpaper. We love this all over your foyer, or just on the ceiling as a surprising accent. A textured silk or grasscloth is a great place to start if you don't want to commit to a pattern.
Remember to mix textures, heights, and varying shades of color. This creates a feeling of balance and makes sure your entryway doesn't feel sterile. Also, you don't need to fill every corner. Less can be more when you choose the right pieces. As the first thing your guests see when they enter your home, your entryway provides a look into your home life and home's style. It is easy to create a space that will impress if you accessorize properly and keep it personal and uncluttered.

Coffee tables are the go to space in our homes to display our decor style, but let's be honest, all that empty space can sometimes be (totally) overwhelming. We've all been there: you try to limit the number of accessories, but the table ends up looking empty. You try to add layers and interest, but it just ends up looking messy. Don't worry, we are here to help you style your coffee table! Just follow these 3 easy styling and accessorizing tips to keep your coffee table chic, clean and totally fabulous!
1. CREATE VISUAL TRIANGLES: One of the most important principles in home decor in general, is the number one rule to keep in mind when approaching a coffee table styling project. To create visual triangles you arrange all the pieces in 3 groups or footprints and place them so that there are different heights & depths. (you can also create larger odd numbered groups, but 3 is the best place to start). In our Colette Set example, the candlesticks are one footprint or group, the floral is the second footprint and the spheres on the book are the third grouping. As you can see, even though this set has 6 pieces, by grouping them in 3 footprints each element has a place and they look organized and purposeful.
2. MIX FINISHES & MATERIALS (& REPEAT): A super effective way to add visual interest to a design is by mixing finishes and materials. Mixing materials instantly infuses the space with rich variation in texture and in light, and dimension. In our Colette Set example, we mix glass, steel, paper and fabric, as well as silver and brass finishes, to achieve a soft and feminine look, that has depth and movement. The key to retaining cohesiveness while mixing materials is REPETITION. In this case we repeat glass (in the candle sticks and the vase) and we repeat the circular shape in the spheres and in the candlesticks.
3. INCORPORATE NATURAL ELEMENTS: This is a simple rule, but oh SO important! Bringing a piece of nature in has a balancing, calming, and connecting effect. Natural elements are a great way to easily and inexpensively update the look to reflect the seasons and moods. You don't have to limit yourself to florals, branches, greenery, leaves, rocks or even shells will fit the bill.

Need more books to fill your space? Get them here.
If you're like us, you have tons of books laying around the house. Some are piled high in corners, others are filed randomly in our bookshelves. While this can be overwhelming, it is also a great opportunity to give you shelves some style. Here are FIVE STYLING TIPS on how to put those books to good use. So, brush off the dust, pull off their covers, and get ready to style your bookshelves to look fab!!!
1. GROUP THEM BY COLOR Ombré, rainbow, color blocking or monochrome all add interest when styling your books on your bookshelves. You can place different color groupings on different shelves too.
2. DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER Discover gorgeous colors, textures and patterns that are often hiding under the jackets. Looking under the book jacket will give you more styling opportunities for the books going on your shelves.
3. VERTICAL IS NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN Lay stacks on their side and up against vertical groups to create interesting shapes. If you have a lot of books, alternating stacks with vertical books is a great way to ensure you have room for all your books on your bookshelves. Mixing up the way you place books on your shelves can also help keep things interesting.
4. CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE Turn them around to flaunt their beautifully weathered pages or to display elegant metallic or brightly hued pages. Different types of pages can help add depth and interest to your bookshelves.
5. EMPTY SPACE IS VALUABLE You don’t have to fill shelves to the brim, in fact, empty space only highlights and adds balance, but if you do fill up, make sure you cover every inch. Books on bookshelves can take up a lot of space so if you choose to do the latter, we recommend starting to fill up space with books.
